Membership of the class of voters is open to all those adults who are born to the surname Donohoe (including spelling variants) and who belong to a qualified Donohoe lineage originating in the area that is now included in the County of Cavan and adjoining counties in Ireland and that was all at some time part of or on the periphery of the ancient kingdom of Briefne. Other interested persons are welcomed as Friends of the Donohoe Clan Society. Applicants qualified to become Voters may choose to become Friends instead.

Voters and Friends are entitled to all Clan notices and publications which may be issued, and to participate in any Clan meetings and to serve on committees. Voters are entitled to vote and to hold elective office.
